About Garden Club by the Sea

Garden Club by the Sea (GCBS) was organized and federated in 1964. Now in our 57th year, our club objectives are beautification, conservation, and education.  Active Membership  is limited to 55 members who are residents on the barrier island of Indialantic Florida between the Eau Gallie Causeway and the southern boundary of Melbourne Beach Florida.  Board meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at 1:00pm. General meetings are the 3rd Wednesday at 9:30am. Our monthly General Meetings take place in our members homes and include a time of socializing, an exciting educational program and a business meeting.
What we do:
Our club members, along with the City of Indialantic Florida maintain the grounds of Lily Park located at the corner of Riverside Drive and 8th Avenue in Indialantic, Florida. We provide scholarships to local students pursuing college degrees related to Environmental Sciences or Horticulture. All members participate in a fundraiser every two years to support our scholarship program. We also provide scholarships for summer youth campers at Camp Wekiva located in Apopka, Florida. We continually collect personal supplies and provide a monthly floral arrangement to "Serene Harbor," a local shelter for women that are victims of domestic violence. We select and award a monthly Beautification Award to a residential yard in our community. We participate in community and state garden-related programs to educate our members.
